The West Shore High School Music Departments are excited to officially announce our trip to Disney World in Orlando, FL scheduled for April 08-12, 2021 (postponed from Nov 28-Dec 02, 2020). This trip is open to all students who will be participating in a musical ensemble at Red Land or Cedar Cliff during the 2020 - 21 school year and/or students who will be in the West Shore Marching Band during the fall of 2020 (including 8th grade if you are a member). As the premier feature of the trip, students will have the opportunity to perform and experience the Christmas Candlelight Processional Concert. Additionally, the Orchestra and Concert Bands will participate in a performance clinic providing the music for a Disney Animation short film, and the marching band will be performing down Mainstreet U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. Also included in your trip cost will be round-trip air transportation between BWI/Dulles (to be determined) and Orlando, four nights hotel accommodations at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, all transfers and connections, tips, and gratuities, money for four breakfasts at the hotel food court and for four park meals.
Parents and family members are welcome to join us, but all family members out of high school and/or over the age of 18, by state law, MUST complete volunteer clearances and be a registered volunteer in the West Shore School District. All information is available on the website (Forms page). Final payment will not be accepted without proof of volunteer status for the 2020-2021 school year. Please submit a scanned copy of your volunteer card along with your payment and registration. You can take care of this over the summer to be ready to go by September 25th. In addition, ALL attendees over the age of 18 MUST have a REAL ID/Passport in order to board an airplane. If you have questions please email any of the music directors. Please make sure you are entered into the Charms system in order to receive updates about future meetings and fundraiser options provided by the West Shore Music Boosters. Fundraisers are an excellent way to help defray the costs of this trip as they provide students the opportunity to earn student credits. Student credits are simply a portion of the proceeds of the sale. These vary within each specific fundraiser. Please see the "Fundraiser" page for more info on current programs. |
